Mamaw's Cornbread Dressing
This is my grandmother's recipe for the cornbread dressing we ate every Thanksgiving and Christmas. Mamaw doubled this recipe for our family.
Ingredients
- 1 package Cornbread mix
- 1 cup Onion, chopped
- 1 cup Celery, diced
- 1/3 cup Butter or margarine
- 2 Eggs, beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
- to taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Poultry seasoning
- 1 1/4 cup Chicken broth
Instructions
Cook cornbread, crumble when cool.
Brown onion and celery until tender, add to crumbled cornbread.
Add 2 beaten eggs, pepper, salt, poultry seasoning and chicken broth.
Add to well-greased casserole dish and bake at 350 for approx. 30 minutes.
Yield: Serves 4-6
